Here are 7 things your cat wants you to know

It shouldn't come as a surprise that people in the United States place a high value on their cats as pets. They have everything going for them, from their charming demeanors to the bright minds that make up their personalities. What if, though, your cat had a few things that it wanted you to know? Here are seven things that we believe your cat would want to make very certain that you knew about them if they could speak to you directly!

1. Although I enjoy being outside, if you keep me inside, I will have a longer life.

The great outdoors feels more like my natural environment because it is filled with a wide variety of exciting things for me to discover and hunt. Nevertheless, it is not the ideal location for me to make my home. Did you know that when I live outside, my life expectancy is somewhere between two and five years? That is ridiculously brief! On the other hand, if you confine me to the safety and comfort of your house my whole life, I may perhaps survive to be 17 years old. This equates to around 15 additional years of me lavishing affection on you in the form of beautiful hugs and kisses.

2. I just meow for you, not for the other cats in the house.

Aside from the odd hissing fits we get into when we feel threatened, cats are not required to meow at one another. You humans are the only ones we meow at! When we are young, we meow to let our mothers know when we are hungry or when we need a little bit of additional comfort. We don't need to meow anymore now that we're adults; the only time we'll do so is to communicate with you, whether it's to say hello, let you know we're hungry, or let you know if something's wrong. And the more you engage in conversation with us, the more we will engage in conversation with you!

3. Please provide me with more than just dry cat food.

I don't simply look like a tiger... I have to start eating like a human, too! Because I am a genuine carnivore and a cat, my diet must consist primarily of meat products. It goes without saying that I enjoy munching on dry food throughout the day, but if I exclusively consume dry food, my diet is not the healthiest it can be. When compared to my animal friends that subsist on a diet of wet food, I have a higher risk of developing obesity and diabetes.

4. Because I get bored easily, I need you to occasionally keep me entertained when we spend time together.

I'm going to miss you so much when you go back to work! I adore having someone by my side. Companionship is something that I require much more if I don't have a sibling with whom I can play. Please don't simply sit around and play on your phones or watch TV when you get back to the house. Come hang out with me for a while and try to stimulate my senses. You can get me some exercise by playing with some cat toys with me, and it will offer us both an opportunity to connect with one another on a more personal level. Not only will I adore you for it, but it will also wear me out a little bit so that by the time sleep rolls around, I'll be ready.

5. Spending time with me can help lower your stress levels, which in turn lowers your chance of having a heart attack or stroke.

Did you know that having me around reduces the likelihood of you having a stroke by a third? It's accurate! You may experience less tension and worry as a result of my adorable little furry spirit, and you may also feel better as a result of the vibrations that come from my purring.

6. Please don't be irritated at me for scratching; it's a compulsion of mine.

If you catch me picking at your furniture, please don't assume that I'm doing so with the intention of destroying your sofa. I actually only want a comfortable location in which I can spread out my toes and claws. When they grow old and brittle, some of the outer layers of my claws need to be shed. Sometimes I'll scratch items to establish my territory by leaving behind claw marks and a scent with the item in question. I beg you not to be angry with me; it's just my natural tendency. Investing in some scratching posts or trees is a smart move to make in this situation. In this way, I am certain that there is a secure location where I am free to itch and stretch on a daily basis.

7. The fact that you call my name does not guarantee that I will come to you.

You might shout my adorable cat's name a million times, and I could still ignore you and remain looking out the window no matter how many times you say it. Believe me, I am aware of my own name. Because you've gone over it with me so many times, I've internalized the information. The fact that I'm a cat means that I'm not under any obligation to obey you, unlike Fido, who lives next door. Because you are higher up in the hierarchy than the dog, he will come racing to you as soon as he hears your voice. Nothing of that concern is relevant to me. Everything is very clear in my mind, from the time you forced me to consume that revolting drug to the other occasion when you took me to the veterinarian. It doesn't imply that I don't love you; I've just decided to go about things in a different manner.

With any luck, the following advice on how to care for a cat will not only assist you in developing a stronger bond with your adorable feline friend but will also assist your cat in leading the longest, healthiest life possible, allowing them to spend more time being a loyal companion to you.
