Semolina fried fish

Almost every weekend we have house parties. Friends who come over to eat and drink often make me think of offering them something new and interesting.

I used to serve packaged foods most of the time but seeing their ill effects on health finally made me step into the kitchen and take things into my own hands.

Being a non-vegetarian always leaves me plenty of room to experiment with main ingredients such as chicken or fish. However, the benefits of including fish in your diet are far greater than any other form of meat. Hence I tried the healthier option, the “salmon”. Rich in Omega 3, great source of protein and vitamin B, rich in antioxidants. This recipe would have scored an “A” in terms of healthiness. But to enhance the taste, the crunchier the better, why not make a Fish Fry.

The latest find for a great appetizer is the My Smolina Fish Fry! Healthy with about 120 calories. Per serving for 4 persons, cooking time 35-40 minutes. Quick and easy!

ingredients:

1) Fish fillet (of your choice), I used salmon – 5-6 pcs

2) Semolina Flour – 1/2 cup (easily available in mass markets like Walmart)

3) Garlic paste – 1 tsp

4) Red Chilli Powder (Paprika) – 1/2 tsp

5) Lemon juice – 1 tsp

6) Salt – to taste

7) Olive oil – for shallow frying

road:

1) Wash the fish fillets and remove the skin if necessary, make sure to use soft hands while washing and scrubbing if using salmon, as the pieces are thin and break easily.

2) In a bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon each of the oil, salt, paprika, lemon juice, and garlic paste.

Spread and rub all the pieces of fish, cover and keep in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

3) Once well-marinated, heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan.

Spread semolina flour on a plate.

4) Coat the fish fillets in semolina flour and fry them in the pan.

5) It usually takes 5-7 minutes over medium heat to fry the fish on one side, then turn over and fry for another 5-7 minutes on the other side.

6) It may take a few more minutes for them to become crispy and well cooked.

7) Once done, remove it onto a plate and serve hot with a sauce or dip of your choice.
